Suitcase Fusion 8 Beta
Windows 10. I would like to be able to group fonts into families. I had this in a previous version and would like to have it back. I do like the grid view for a quick search.

I don’t know if this would be a bug report or a feature request, but none of my Monotype Library Subscription fonts are showing up. Typekit fonts show up in their place, but not Skyfonts-downloaded MLS fonts. In general, I rely more on MLS than Typekit.
System is running Win 10 Fall Creators Update prerelease, in case that’s relevant.

Hi Alan!
This would fall into the feature request category. We don’t currently have support for displaying Skyfonts downloaded fonts in Suitcase. I will note the request in our feature request database so we can keep track of it.
You would need to add your downloaded fonts to Suitcase like any other font, so as you add or sync fonts from Skyfonts you will need to manually add them to Suitcase.

I am using the Fusion 8 beta on a MacBookPro running macOS Sierra (10.12.6)
When I open Fusion 8 I can not change the height of the window. I can expand it horizontally, but not vertically. Even the green expand button only increases the width of the window. In this state the software is unusable for me.

Problems using .fontvault on external NAS drive
Thank you, but this didn’t work. I got an error saying “The selected vault folder is invalid. Please select a valid vault folder”. I have also upgraded to the beta version 19. Is there any other options to try?

Adobe has created a seamless workflow between Adobe Premiere and After Effects that allows you to create AE templates and use them in Premiere to easily change type. The problem is Suitcase is unable to auto activate in Priemere, You have to launch after effects first for it to work. Not sure if this is a bug or a request but this something I ran into using Fusion 8 beta and adobe CC 2017.

While adding new fonts is in progress, the app behaves unexpectedly. One example: clicking the button “New Smart Search” will actually create new folder after 21 seconds. But there is no sign of progress, it is not clear whether the button does work or not. Other features are also unexpectedly delayed.

I have a lot of light gray fonts that are unusable too. Many are high quality purchased fonts, so it’s not that they are poorly executed free fonts.

Hi David and tsaritzky,
The graying out of some previews is a known issue and has been fixed. In Suitcase Fusion 7 if a font had even a single glyph that it couldn’t render in your selected text it would not render the preview at all.
So we have updated how this works so we now will always preview all fonts regardless of missing glyphs. In the final version of SF8 you will see the fonts rendered correctly with all available glyphs. Any missing glyphs will show the default unicode missing glyph character (it is a fancy diamond with a ? in it) so you can quickly see the glyph is missing.
Here is an example of what it looks like with the fix and a font with a few missing glyphs:

My experience working with Fusion 8 is as follows. I am using a Mac OS 10.11.6 and CC 2017.

Fonts are not auto activating. The auto activation was installed in each application.

I would like to see the font families in a folder shown in rows as well

I have not been able to figure out how to turn on the whole family, In Fusion 7 when font families were listed in a row you could turn on the folder

Same thing I commented on at the top. Definitely a necessary feature, not only for type/foundry/version info on multiple fonts at once, but also to have a font count for any search or Smart Search result. Only regular sets show a font count next to them. No way of getting a count on any type of search.
