I have Suitcase set to open on login on my Mac - High Sierra. Although I have ticked the hide box in logo in preferences on launch the Window pops up large as life in front of everything - it’s not even the first item on the list. Sure this didn’t happen before. Not a major issue of course but annoying to have to close the window every time. Anyone else?

InDesign auto-activation not working after latest update
I ran the most recent update this morning because it said it added “more font details to different views” - I am not quite sure what font details were added, I don’t think I see a difference. But for whatever reason now my auto-activation for inDesign is broken.

I’m going insane here… 120 bucks down the drain?
I’ve used the trial for a couple of weeks and today paid for the full version (latest OS mac) and downloaded it.
I’m signed in with the exact username and password that I made the purchase with. After I installed the software I’m prompted to sign in. Using the exact same username and password as on the site it says my trial has expired…
I’ve already uninstalled previous versions of Suitcase Fusion, restarted my Mac and still nothing. Internet connection is ok.

I am sorry that you are having difficulties with your new copy of Suitcase Fusion. Is it possible that you used a different email address when you signed up for the trial (vs. what you purchased with)? If so, that would cause the symptoms you are describing. If that is the case, please see this KBA to get the steps to reset the email associated with your copy of Suitcase Fusion.
If that does not solve your issue, I do see that you have contacted Technical Support and I expect they will contact you within 1 business day.

Yes, I used a different address for the trial but before my purchase however, I changed that (made basically a new account) With that account I purchased the copy of Suitcase. So there should be no link to the previous e-mail address used.
I deleted any mail associated with that previous account so there is no way to try ‘registering’ with that old e-mail for me.

Suitcase already has a process that starts up in the background called the FMCore. Sometimes setting the application to start could cause issues if started before the background process starts.
We would recommend, not having the application set as a start-up item. The FMCore process runs and allows for auto-activation of fonts in applications such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Quark. If you have fonts set to be permanently active in Suitcase Fusion, these will also be available in your applications.

Copy the font name
I’m still using suitcase 7, so i don’t know if in the new release this basic function is implemented.
I can’t find a way to copy just the name of a font. Also opening the “Info” tab the name field is not selectable and it’s impossible to select copi from the right-click menu.

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish. A couple of questions for you:
- Why are you trying to copy the name of the font? Do you need to rename the font?
If you are trying to rename or change certain characteristics of a font, then Suitcase will not provide these functions. Suitcase Fusion is a management tool and not a font editor. Modification of fonts can be done with other tools on the market such as FontLab.

Why am I trying to copy the name of the font?
For example: I can copy the name and paste it on google to search info about its history, or search for similar fonts on the market, search for some references of how it’s used, maybe I can switch to Illustrator or indesign and paste it in their “font” field to select directly that font instead of start typing the name or select it in the menu… I don’t know… there are a lot of things you can do if you can copy some text.
You have to admit that an info tab where I can only read some text is quite useless.

How do I show font folders like Suitcase 7 in Suitcase 8?
Font Family Folder View was perfect. List of fonts below, and characters above. So clean and simple.
I see that an update came out today and still not the kind of overhaul we were hoping for. I didn’t see anything useful.
It’s like Extensis is bent on pushing something on us that no one wants. Why are they fighting the users on this so much?
Please stop all this needless experimentation and return Suitcase to the professional’s font management program that 7 was.
